Things to do
Beaches & River - pack a picnic and sun umbrella and drive 15 minutes to the surf-patrolled Ocean or Waimarama beaches. Pop down to Horseshoe bend just below the property for a dip in the cool waters of the Tukituki or grab an inner-tube and gently float down the river.
Be active - hire or bring your own bikes, explore the many cycleways around the Hawke's Bay. Take a walk (or drive) up Te Mata Peak to view the whole of the Bay, or walk/cycle along the many trails in the area.
Wineries - Cellar doors are a must - and 5min down the road is Craggy Range Restaurant & Winery and not far from there is Blackbarn Winery. Take time out to explore the region's wineries (bike or car) and indulge in some of the best wines in the world.
Tourist attractions - visit the Gannet sanctuary, National Aquarium and take a stroll through Napier, the Art Deco capital of the world.
Indulge - enjoy the many top-class restaurants, cafes and artisan food outlets, many 15 minutes from the door (or tent flap!). Be part of the Bay's foodies event FAWC (summer and winter) - but be sure to book ahead!
In our valley neighbourhood - walk the Tukituki Riverside walk, visit Kim Morgan Pottery, head over to Te Awanga to Outfoxed, go horse riding, and, be sure to pick up a locally roasted Hawthorne coffee and a delectable delight from Red Bridge Coffee on your way home.
Go shopping in Havelock North
Just 15 minutes away, visit the village's exquisite boutique fashion, homeware, gift stores, stop for a coffee and a bite to eat at the many cafes and restaurants..
On Sunday's - in the summer go to the Blackbarn Market and all year round the Hastings Farmers Market, full of local produce plus local entertainment.
